Gesundaberget
Hotel | Gesundaberget offers skiing for all members of the family during winter and in the summer you can ride your bike down winding, challenging trails. From the top of the mountain there is a marvellous view over Lake Siljan and the surrounding mountains. At the restaurant, you can enjoy a delicious meal. Next door to Gesundaberget Lodge and cabins, right on the hill side, you can visit Tomteland -a magic theme park for the whole family.
Gesundaberget with its magnificent 514m above sea level invites you to all kinds of outdoor activities, summer as well as winter. The magnificent view from the summit, once awarded three stars in the Guide Michelin´s Green Guide, attract hikers, bikers, skiers and paragliders. From here, Siljansringen is clearly visible. A result of the enormous meteorite impact 380 million years ago that shaped the area and gave it its unique character. Lake Siljan, at the foot of Gesundaberget, forms the southwestern part of the huge crater.
Gesundaberget offers accommodation in 16 cosy and well-equipped semi-detached cabins next to the lift and slope system. The Lodge also offers ski in/ski out with 39 rooms.
In winter, the mountain is open for downhill skiing. The total drop is 270m and the longest piste takes you a winding 1800m down the mountain's side. Here you have children's slope for the youngest, steeper challenges and many excellent slopes for tricks and adventures.
Skidboden rents out alpine equipment and also sells ski passes and snacks. Packed lunches can be eaten in the heated cabin and hot dogs are grilled at the barbecue areas next to the children's slope. Next to the mountain's alpine facility, there are well-prepared cross-country ski tracks.
In the summer, other trails open down the sides of the mountain. Challenging downhill tracks for the experienced biker and a little less adventurous tracks for those not so daring. Equipment is available for rent on site. The lift to the top, a tow lift, (anchor lift) places some demands on the biker's skills. Once up, the mountain's legendary slopes await.
The mountain is also a popular destination for paragliders. On a perfect day, you might want to prepare for a looong flight.
Several winding paths lead to the top. Steep, straight up tracks up the front or more modest, longer and flatter paths towards the top on the west side. Don't forget the picnic basket! Or the breakfast basket, the sunrise is magical on the top of the mountain.
Värdshuset, the restaurant, on Gesundaberget is open for lunch, coffee and dinner during the seasons. Enjoy the view over Lake Siljan or hang out in the sun on the outdoor terrace and enjoy the beautiful silhouette of the mountain. Opening hours on the website. For groups and conferences, it is possible to book all year round.
