Johannisholm Adventure
Holiday village | Johannisholm is located at the southern outlet of Lake Venjanssjön, Venjans parish, Mora Municipality. The place was named after the priest and entrepreneur Johan Leufqvist who started a glassworks in 1796. The glassworks was first located on Sandön because of the silica-rich sand that was there, but lacked hydroelectric power and was then moved to the location that is now called Johannisholm.
Johannisholm Adventure is accommodation full of character and history, set in the forests of Dalarna. The main buildings are preserved cabins from the time Johannisholm was a working glassworks. Carefully modernised, they offer a comfortable stay with a rustic, country-cabin feel — ideal for families, friends, or small groups looking for a simple yet welcoming retreat. Each apartment has 2–3 bedrooms, accommodates 4–9 guests, and includes its own kitchen, shower, and toilet.
For those wanting an even closer-to-nature experience, we also offer eight simple economy cabins during the summer months. These cabins provide a camping-like adventure with just enough comfort for a fun and memorable stay — perfect for an active, playful, or relaxing summer getaway.
Johannisholm Adventure provide a wide range of outdoor activities year-round, including equipment hire and guided tours, so you can explore the surrounding nature your way — from paddling and hiking in summer to snow adventures in winter.
The accommodation is quietly located away from the E45, surrounded by forest and nature. Enjoy peace and tranquility, outdoor adventure, or simply unwind in the beautiful Dalarna countryside.
